Hi,
To answer those question one must first answer the questions: what is a proof? and what is a meaning?
Without them you can’t really answer the question because you don’t know what you’r looking for.
There are many evidence for the existence of god, historical, intelligent design etc’. But proof is more than evidence.
Regarding the meaning of life. I myself haven’t managed to figure our what “meaning” is, so I can’t answer this question.
But I can answer a different question:
“what is the ultimate goal of life”?
It is to be happy.
What is good, what is bad?
Why do we say that a certain person or a certain thing is good or bad?
What determines our decision?
There is a whole branch of philosophy that deals with the question of good and bad, or good vs evil. It is called Morality, or Ethics.
Yet is there any basis to the philosophy of Morality and Ethics?
I mean, can we really find anything or any behavior that is absolutely good or bad, no matter the circumstances or different points of view?
Do we really have a reasonable justification to classify people or behaviors as good or bad, like we often do?
And if we don’t? If we find that there really isn’t such a thing as a bad man or a bad behavior, how would we handle such a world?
In this video, you will find answers to all of these questions, and much more.
What is the nature of good and bad?
what are good and bad?
Before publishing my answer to this question, next week, I invite you to try and answer this question and share your thoughts in the comments.
Now, you may find that the question itself is very unclear.
It is hard to understand what we are looking for.
A wise friend of mine used to say that every good question contains the answer within itself.
So, if we want to find an answer,
we should improve the question; make it more specific.
I call this method, “detail the question”.
For example, I can ask:
•Which things do I call good and which do I call bad?
•Which things do other people in general call good and which do they call bad?
•What are the causes determining whether something is considered good or bad?
•Is there anything that is absolutely good or bad?
Do you feel that by specifying the question, we are already closer to the answer?
I invite you to work with this indication and formulate other specific questions.
Share you questions with us in the comments below.
Thinking is not a given ability. We learn it over time and we can also learn to improve it.
The insights I share in the “Lucid thinking” channel, were gained thanks to some thinking skill I have learned over time.
Along with sharing these insights, I would like to share these thinking skills too, so other people will able to reach these kinds of insights by themselves.
So I have decided to try a new way to present my videos.
A week before uploading a new video I would publish a prefatory video that explains the main question that will be discussed in the upcoming video, and I would invite you to search for the answer by yourself.
I will give you some suggestions on how to approach the question, and we will start a discussion in the comments section, where we could share our thoughts and discoveries.
After a week, the video with my answer to the question will be published.
